Anambra: Police ceased cartons of IPOB leaflets to disturb election

The
Police in Anambra have ceased cartons of large quantities of
leaflets printed for distribution by the Indigenous People of Biafra
(IPOB) to disturb the upcoming November 18 gubernatorial election in the
state.
The
state's Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Mike Okoli revealed
this Friday, during the civil society dialogue on the upcoming election
with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Police
organised by the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) in Abuja.
He
said some of the leaflets had phrases like "No referendum, no election"
written on them with others in different forms urging people to stay at
home on the Election Day.
He
said group which hitherto threatened that there will be no election in
the attempt has "virtually disappeared" and now operating underground
but intelligence exposed their plans, giving room for a peaceful
environment for the conduct of the election.
He said three people were arrested in connection with this and they would soon be charged to court.
