The ex-militants also passed a vote of confidence on Buhari, following what they termed his commitment to develop the Niger Delta.

According to Punch, they also hailed the commencement of work on the Maritime University in Okerenkoko, Delta State.

Mr. Bull Ifiemi, the spokesman of the ex-militants also said that Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo’s efforts to empower the youths of Niger-Delta, is yielding result.

2018 budget proposal

Abiodun Adesanya, the President, Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), has called on the Federal Government to check activities of militants to achieve the 2018 budget revenue target.

Adesanya also said that the most critical aspect would be for government to maintain continuous dialogue with the militants.

Meanwhile, the managing editor of Financial Nigeria Magazine, Jide Akintunde has described the 2018 budget estimate as grossly unrealistic.
