Guardiola narrowly escapes FA ban
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, will not face disciplinary action over his on-field confrontation with Southampton winger, Nathan Redmond.
The FA has however reminded the Spaniard of his responsibilities.
Guardiola and Redmond were involved in an intense conversation, as
they left the pitch after City’s dramatic 2-1 win over Southampton last
Wednesday.
Redmond has since played down the incident , stating there was nothing aggressive or offensive in what Guardiola said to him, while the City boss claimed he was merely complimenting the England midfielder on what a good player he was.
But after reviewing footage of the incident, the FA sought Guardiola’s version of events and gave him until 5pm on Monday to submit his written observations.
That means that Guardiola will be on the touchline for his side’s derby clash with Manchester United this Sunday.
