Ex-Lesbian abandons her past to embrace a new identity in God

An ex-lesbian is sharing the testimony of her transformation from a gay lifestyle to a relationship with God.

The lady named Emily Thomes was only able to have this mindblowing change after an encounter with the Heavenly Father.

In her words, this change led her from being lost to being saved.
Now, she is a Christian speaker and blogger, who is sharing her incredible story in a recent video for Anchored North.

Her lesbian origin story

Thomes’ “super wild” lifestyle with other women started at the young age of 15.

According to her, her first romantic relationship with a girl at 15 years old was “was my first time ever dating someone.”

She continued having affairs with women with the belief that God would accept her relationship.

At the time, she said she twisted the scriptures to suit her lifestyle and thought “Judge not. God being love meant God was nice and God was chill with what you were cool with.

“If you were truly a Christian, you were on my side. If not, you were legalistic and needed to reread what God was really about.

“By 18, 19, 20 I was super wild and in serial relationships with women.”

Eventually, Thomes got engaged to a woman with two children.

From lesbian to Christian

Everything changed for her after she got invited to a Bible study. This happened when she was 22 years old.

There, she expected criticism but got something different that frustrated her. That frustration led to researching Bible verses online.

In her words, “I expected them to bring up my lifestyle really early, and use that as justification for not coming back, so I agreed to go."

“Different women in that circle were talking about different experiences they had. I have nothing like that, and it bugged me. I could not stop thinking, ‘what if all of that’s true?’

“‘Are you sure this is who you are?’ I couldn’t stop questioning. I need to feel OK. Because I don’t feel OK anymore.”

At first, her google search led her to 1 Corinthians 6: 9–10 which scared her. In her words: “Those who practice homosexuality, which was me, and also drunkards and a bunch of other things that I would’ve been, I realized that I was in the ‘will I enter the Kingdom of God?’ lineup and it scared me really really bad.

“And then I read verse 11,” she said in reference to 1 Corinthians 6:11. “And it says, ‘And such were some of you, but you are washed, you are sanctified, you are justified.’”
