Three tips that will make you get out of bed early
It is that moment when dawn has approached and you have to leave the comfort of your bed! And you wonder why the night could not last long. Getting up early is no fun but with these hacks, you will be able to achieve this.
Put your alarm across the room, instead of close to your bed.
This has been particularly helpful for me, especially on days I cannot afford to oversleep. The drone from the alarm can be quite loud and annoying and I have to physically get my butt out of bed and walk across the room to turn it off.
Get up three minutes earlier than the previous day.
You should have a set time as your desired goal. For instance, if you get up by 6 am on a particular day with a goal of 5:45 am, it means you should get up by 5:57 am the next day and so on. This will help you form the habit, without noticing the difference. In time, you will reach your goal.
Reduce the amount of time spent on screens the night before.
This includes laptops and phones. Have a “no phone or laptop rule” at least 30 minutes before bed, so that you can easily fall asleep. Replace them with reading books or journals and sleep will come faster.
Remember, it is a gradual process, so always track it and record progress made. For a final tip; resist pressing snooze. It is a trap to make you sleep even more!
