Obanikoro, Former Minister of defence to defect to APC

He will officially state his defection to the ruling party this weekend.

Former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has revealed his intention to defect from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

While speaking to Channels Television on Thursday, November 23, 2017, the former Lagos State gubernatorial candidate said he will declare the defection officially this weekend.
There had been rumours that he had defected to the APC as far back as in June, but he publicly denied it even though he had been spotted in gatherings with APC chieftains.

Obanikoro ran for the seat of Governor of Lagos under the umbrella of the PDP in 2007 but lost to current Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.
He also lost the party primaries for the gubernatorial election in 2015 to Jimi Agbaje who lost to eventual winner Akinwunmi Ambode of the APC.
