Extreme Aso-ebi style

These women are doing the most to make sure all eyes are on them.

The cardinal rule of weddings is to never upstage the bride and in most cases it is virtually impossible to take the shine from a lady on her big day.

However, it seems aso-ebi, a tradition where different sets of friends and families can be identified by wearing the same material, has taken on a life of its own. The normally innocuous tradition has become somewhat of a battleground of the most daring.

Risqué

From thigh high splits, sheer panels to backless dress, it seems the thin line between sexy and trashy has become blurred and some wedding guests have done away altogether with unspoken rules.

Guest or Bride?

In some cases, aso-ebi has become so elaborate and outrageous, it's hard to tell who exactly is getting married. Why do women feel the need to pull out all the stops on somebody else's big day?
The beauty of the wedding culture in Nigeria is that they are very glamorous events but it sometimes we forget to bear in mind that whilst we are partaking in the celebration, ultimately, we are just the audience to the main attractions, the happy couple.
Here's a look at some extreme aso-ebi that has potentially crossed the line.
Let us know your thoughts, when does aso-ebi become inappropriate and how would you feel if someone wore this to your wedding?
