Women falling head long for bad boys?
Even though they might not be the better option, women can't seem to stay away from these types of men
It seems that most women have a soft spot for those bad boys. From a smouldering James Dean to an unruly Johnny Depp, women can't seem to get enough of their wild ways.
Studies have shown that narcissists and men who display some psychopathic tendencies tend to get more dates on average than the normal man so is it really a case of nice guys finish last or that women just don't know what's best for them? What is it about these bad boys that makes them so damn irresistible?!They are more attractive
No- it's not all in your head- bad boys really are very good looking. Research shows that people with seemingly 'dark' personalities such as narcissism do come across as more physically attractive. Narcissists in particular work hard to make themselves look more physically appealing so its probably not a coincidence that bad boys tend dress extremely well and are perfectly groomed. In addition, those with typically 'dark' personality traits are found to be more likeable and exhibited more confident body language. All in all, bad boys know how to make a great and lasting first impression. Probably why women cant seem to get them out of their minds. They believe they can 'change' them
Women, wanting to see the very best in their man, always believe that there is a soft interior lurking below the bad boy exterior. They subscribe to the fairy-tale that he will love them enough or care enough to change for them. They believe that they are the ones who will be the catalyst for this change and more often than not, they end up dissappointed. Even though your ego may like to believe otherwise, people don't change for any other then reason than THEY are ready to.They’re more fun
From motorcycles to fast cars and spontaneous trips, bad boys know how to have a good time. A study conducted in 2016 showed that a number of women were attracted to bad boy types because they found them 'captivating.' “While they are selfish, rule-breaking, imprudent, and rebellious, they are also brave, independent, and self-reliant— and they live frantic, galvanising lives,” said lead researcher Fernando Gutiérrez. He added that this behaviour could function as “a signal that the subject has such good genetic quality and condition as to live dangerously without suffering harm.” The study continued on to say that those dark traits including impulsiveness and , “are not being weeded out by natural selection and actually may confer an evolutionary advantage.” Therefore ‘nice’ guys with structured lives and dependency just can’t compete with their wild bad boy counterparts who apparently seem like they will live forever.
