Is he a gentleman?

Someone once said that it seems gentlemen hardly exist anymore. Well, I beg to disagree. I believe they exist and it is just that there are so many pretenders this day that finding a true gentleman can prove tricky sometimes. Therefore, here are simple signs to spot. 

1. He’s willing to put in the work

 A true gentleman does not leave you to shoulder most of the emotional responsibilities in a relationship. He will gladly stand as a support system for you and do all that is required to make you comfortable in the relationship.

2. He has good manners

This is what most people use to say a man is gentle. It is part and parcel but not all that it entails. A perfect gentleman will open doors for you and let you walk into buildings first. He will not let you walk on the side of the road. He will put your needs before his.

3. He is responsible 

A gentleman will take responsibility for his actions. He does not manipulate you into taking the fall for what he does wrong or blame it on other people or things.

4. He respects your friends

He may not be talkative but he goes out of his way to make your friends comfortable. He will make conscious effort to engage them and let you enjoy your time with them even when he is there rather than trying to monopolize your attention.

5. He doesn’t make you feel insecure

A gentleman will not put you down. He will listen to you and make you feel good about yourself. He will constantly assure you that his world revolves around you.

6. He is never violent

A gentleman never resorts to harsh words to prove his point. And he will never lay his hands on you just because he is angry.
